All scooters rented are in good working condition and renter acknowledges that any scratches, or damages have been noted in advance and if there is any damage, it is the responsibility of the renter to point it out to a staff member of Sunshine Rentals Ltd. who will record the damage with a photo.

Scooters are licensed vehicles and must remain on public roads, adhering to the laws of Belize. They are not to be taken off-road, or onto the beach. Scooters are to remain on the peninsula, no exceptions.

Renter acknowledges that insurance coverage is provided for third party damage only. Insurance does not cover personal injury to the renter. Collision coverage is available at the daily rate charged and has a US$500 deductible.

It is absolutely prohibited to allow anyone except the renter to operate the scooter. Scooters are for single riders only who possess a valid driver’s license. Renter must be at least 21 years of age.

It is against the law in Belize to operate a scooter without wearing a helmet. Renter acknowledges he/she has been provided with one.

The use of alcohol, or narcotics is expressly prohibited while operating the scooter.

All tickets, fines, fees incurred by the renter must be reported and paid to Sunshine Rentals Ltd., to be paid on the renter’s behalf.

Scooters/vehicles are rented with a full tank of gas and must be returned with a full tank. Scooters must be returned in a clean condition. Excessively dirty scooters not returned in a reasonable condition will be subject to a cleaning fee of US$25.00.  Scooters returned without a full tank of gas will be charged US$25.00

Flat, or damaged tires are the financial responsibility of the renter.

Lost or damaged keys are the financial responsibility of the renter. If the scooter has to be picked up due to lost keys, or for any reason not covered by mechanical breakdowns, renter will pay for this service.

Scooters are provided with a lock-up cable and must be fully secured at all times renter is not in physical control of the scooter. Overnight rentals must further ensure the scooter is secured in an area within a locked compound, or in a resort with over-night security. No exceptions.

In the event of an accident or theft, the renter must contact our office and the local police immediately and wait for an officer to attend and complete a report.

All rentals are pre-paid, and a hard copy credit card imprint will be held open and may be charged for any late fees, fuel, cleaning, tickets, or damages incurred.

Renter agrees to hold Sunshine Rentals Ltd. harmless for any personal injuries sustained, or loss, or damage to your personal property.
