Your Most Frequently Asked Questions Answered!

Are scooters complicated to ride?

No experience required, they’re even easier to operate than riding a bicycle, and you know what they say about riding a bike. The multi-speed automatic transmission means no shifting ever—not even into park, or neutral. Just turn the key, press the starter button, and go! Fun for all ages, guys and gals alike.

Can the scooters take more than one rider?

The Honda scooters are for a single rider only and  the Turinos can handle two riders. If you book the Turino for two people, the rate is US$75/day

Please note: only the person renting the scooter is permitted to operate the scooter. The insurance is void if this is violated, so if both of you are planning to drive it, register both riders.

Who can rent?

Anyone over the age of 21 with a valid driver’s license and a credit card can rent a scooter. A motorcycle endorsement is not required for this class of scooter.

Are scooters licensed vehicles?

Yes – scooters are licensed vehicles and must remain on public roads, adhering to the laws of Belize. They are not to be taken off-road, or onto the beach. Scooters are to remain on the peninsula.

What’s the difference between Daily & Multiple Day Rentals?

A daily rental is anytime between 8am and 5pm.  Plan to get here early and enjoy the full day. A multiple day rental begins at 8am on day one and ends at 5pm on the final day.

For example – 11am on day one, until 5pm on day two is a two day rental. This applies to the weekly rate as well.

What about helmets?

Are provided and are required by law to be worn when operating the scooters. We have a good supply of great looking helmets, so not to worry, you’ll look cool breezing down the road.

What about fuel?

The scooters run on regular gas, and we provide it to you with a full tank and they are to be returned full. If you prefer not to fill it up, no worries we’ll look after this for you for a fee. You can expect to get around 100 miles to the gallon.

Storage and Security

The scooters feature a large under-seat storage area big enough for a helmet, your books, swim gear, or some groceries. The storage area features a lock for added security and is weather-resistant too. We also provide you with a cable lock to secure the scooter when unattended.

What about insurance?

Insurance coverage is provided for third party damage only. Insurance does not cover personal injury to the renter. Collision coverage is available at the daily rate of US$7.50 and has a US$500 deductible. If the renter elects not to take the insurance, he/she will be responsible for any damages, up to the full replacement cost if applicable.

Are there any late fees?
Scooters returned late will incur late charges at the rate of US$20/hour, or a full day rate, if applicable.
